Until now, I still remember the book “Ang AWit ng Ibon”, by Anthony Mello, SJ. (I hope I got the correct name of the author). It was a gift to me by Father Gito, our School Director in San Sebastian School during my first year of teaching in SSS. After three days, the book was lost and didn’t read all the contents. What I can remember so well was the title of the book. I always try to find the book everytime I go to the bookstores, but to no avail.

Yup, I remember so well the revolt. nakakatuwa. Yung last lesson natin sa lit ” Saying goodbye is inevitable”, from the short story Creole Democracy, oh tanda ko pa talaga. Ang daming umiyak na students ko, he he, “Bakit sir, aalis na ba kayo?, IIwanan nyo na kami? Pano na ang laban natin”. I said, darating ang panahon maiintindihan nyo kung bakit ako nagpapaalam. That was one of the most memorable moments in my life…the overpouring support of my students especially kayo nina Jay etc… pati mga parents. Ang sabi ko sa mga kalaban noon ” They can never put a good person down”. Remember a David fighting with Goliath? Ha ha ha
