Semestral break is one of the most awaited moments of the students, to recharge they say. To some, its a time for a vacation, spending time with friends and family, momentarily forgetting the stuffs of the school.
For us, teachers this is supposed to be the time to relax and take a breathe after a semester’s work. But this year, seems no break for us, for me. After the final exams, checking of papers, projects, portfolios ect., computation of grades plus a number of school activities and official businesses. Then enrolment again, then school days again. Whew!
I will find time to go home tomorrow and spend a night or two in our house. I will pay respects to my relatives who have gone away, and attend to our family’s annual “padasal”. I will spend the short time of this break to my mother and siblings.
Hope that the very short break will always bring back in me my enthusiasm in teaching and in my doing my work’s assignments.
